Basic cake batter recipe:
-100g unsalted butter
-100g caster sugar
-100g self raising flour
-2 eggs
-1 teaspoon vanila extract
-Cream the sugar, butter and vanila together until light and fluffy
-Add the flour and eggs and beat until a smooth batter is formed
-Pour the batter into a greased and lined sandwhich tin and bake for 30 minutes at 180c (330f)
